Photos: Heidelberg

Heidelberg is one of my favorite cities. The architecture is beautiful and it's a great place to spend a relaxing afternoon. If you are traveling in Germany, this would be a great stopover between Frankfurt and cities further south, like Stuttgart or Munich.
One of the sites to visit is the Heidelberg Schloss (pictured above). Parts of the castle can visited for a fee, but you can walk around the courtyard for free. This is a great place for views of the city.

Another site is the Heiliggeist Kirche (Holy Ghost Church) in the main market square surrounded by restaurants and souvenir shops.

Stroll along the Alte Brueke (Old Bridge) which is a pedestrian only bridge for a view of the Neckar River and the castle.
